Danes surely do know their furniture. Their furnishings are a treat to the eye and yet they somehow are good at managing space too. Take a look at this dinette set. Designed by Hans Olsen, the dining table is a wonderful space-saver. The chairs are neatly tucked into the round table and the table itself expands via an excellent folding mechanism. The four three-legged chairs are wonderfully arched back for comfort and the whole assortment is eye-candy. As for the bit of history associated with this piece, it was designed by Hans Olsen in 1953 for Frem Røjle Møblefabrik. The design marries form and function and is a wonderful example of integration. All of Olsen’s designs are appealing and adept at compactness. Hunt his furniture designs on ebay and you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise. Be careful though there are plenty of cheap knock offs (inspired, they’d have us believe) going around too. Check out more pictures in image gallery after jump.
