I think within some time eco friendly homes are surely going to become a style statement or a status symbol. Whatever, that will surely bring a revolution. And I sincerely hope that will be good for us as well as mother earth.

So, you know I am talking about eco-friendly designer homes. And this one is a low impact woodland home designed by Moabi with the help of his family and friends. It was built at a total cost of 3,000 pounds over a period of four months. And the end result is not just eco-friendly but also beautiful. Here are some of the features of the house:-

It is dug into the side of the hill.
The stone and mud collected from diggings were used for retaining walls and the foundation.
They have used straw in floor, walls and roof. This provides insulation.
The walls are covered with lime plaster. Hats off for that idea because as compared to cement it takes low energy to manufacture.
The wood used for floors and fittings is reclaimed wood.
They have a fridge too. But it uses air coming through foundations to get cooled.
Solar energy is used for lighting, music and computing.
They have a compost toilet.
They know the importance of water. So, the roof water collects in pond to be used for various purposes.
